It's probably not exactly what you're looking for, but I took delivery of a shiny new Octavia VRS last week and I'm very impressed. For £25k you get a lot of car with basically no badge markup. I used to have an A3 S-Line and I think the interior is on par, and the A3 was £5k+ more, for a smaller car with way fewer toys.

This is a short term lease so I didn't bother going to look at them (Just picked the quickest, biggest car I could for the monthly price I wanted) - but I did a few years back and they've really upped their game.

You could get a 64 plate which barely any mileage for the money you're looking at. In fact, this one is identical to mine:

This. Took a ride in my friend's company VRS a while ago. Lovely interior & very well appointed. Fast. Frighteningly so.

There is a lot to like about the Octy vrs. But the fake exhaust is a bit naff and I really wish the hadn't done that. I think the petrol has it hooked up both sides but not the diesel...





VAG seem obsessed with pipes on each side (even in this case where they are not). Maybe it shaves a bit off their emissions?

My last car was the B3 Biturbo, bloody excellent and would have bought a new one apart from the nearly a year waiting. It did 240,000km in 7 years and was only in the garage once for a Lambda sensor to be replaced.

Misses has the Volvo XC60, it's better than the BMW 5 series we had before it.
