    Put the 220K on the stock market, it will be worth 400 in 10 years, which will easily get them a mansion at 2025 UK house prices and they get 3% divis, and with a pension of 60K and the divis they can easily afford this not far from London, I mean they don't have to live in London:

    3 bedroom detached house to rent in The Parade, Greatstone TN28, TN28
