What you're trying to infer is the farce we call democracy in this country is means we have representation, we don't. We are called to the ballot box once every 5 years, in the run up to that event the politicians tell us carefully scripted lies and after it they completely ignore the existence of the electorate until the run up to the next one.
If you honestly think that your MP represents your views in any way other than by sheer fluke where your opinion coincides with him/her or more accurately Party line then you need to take up residence in a rubber room.

There have been times when representation meant more than it does now.

My "representative" doesn't represent my concerns at all, and it is impossible to change my representative. There's too much money and power involved in politics, and so of course politicians have found ways to use the power they have to entrench themselves.

They should of made David Millband the leader way back, the fact that labour can't between themselves pick a decent leader with a bit of image makes me think what chance they got of running the country and makes me think they are bunch of prats. I know image is not everything but in a global arena it does count, I don't follow politics much as you may have guessed but when I saw in the paper the picture of the new labour leader my first thought was there was some typo or screw up in the paper.

Interesting poll commissioned by the Evening Standard which does have a Tory political bias (25% of it is owned by DMGT - Daily Mail General Trust)
