When you get to my age, young man, you will have seen enough friends depart all too soon, having made more than enough money but not having done everything they want to in life.
If indeed you get to my age, and are not one of those mentioned.
Personally I am not about to defer any more gratification in return for hypothetical gratification next year instead.
Oh I agree Grandad, That is why I've been to Hong Kong and Thailand so far this year, but not taking holiday mid contract is for the real tight arses, who don't budget for 40 weeks work a year.
I had last summer off and it was brilliant, I loved it. Turns out its a lot easier to do when the contract ends than it is to walk off one....
Bottled it and signed up till october, very dissappointed in myself but next year I am defo....
So you can do either depending if the sun shining is the sun shining or money flowing.
Personally I'd take the cash with a view to taking next summer off, after the big contract, or the year after if it is in fact a HUGE contract.

I've basically said just that for the last few years and not gone away in that time. I've politely declined an extension to my current contract as while I like my customer and the team is excellent I can't stand lumps of their customer.
