My last 3 gigs have been through LinkedIn, agents seem to monitor it frequently for profile changes etc as they tend to have premium accounts.
-
Yes
Landed one job, which turned out to be the worst I ever did, and nearly killed me.
- Contacted by 'deep throat' style one man band agent, who I never met face to face [he turned out to have been sacked from a CE role for dishonesty for lying on his CV in the past]
- Was told to mee the client in a hotel in London
- Role was to work for the supplier but be the customer's PM
- Gig lasted around 6 months but was misearable as customer's staff didn't want clients product
- Customer CIO was sacked with allegations around dishonesty around procuring systems 8 weeks after I started, and smell affected my gig
- Customers staff spent half the time crying and raising greivances
So I will be approaching any more LinkIn gigs with a degree of caution.
Sad thing was I was so excited, 'no more pimps for me', I thought.

Yep - current gig.Originally posted by Cliphead View PostAnybody landed a gig via LinkedIn?
Updated my status to "currently looking for contract work" and someone I worked with 10 years ago spotted it, emailed me and asked if I was interested in joining the project. That was 2 1/2 years ago now.

Yep - The role I've just landed was from an ex colleague who contacted me via LI.
If it weren't for LI it's doubtful he'd still have my contact details.
I've also had a couple of direct approaches from companies through LI, none of which came to fruition, but shows there is potential there.
