    Regarding the Tories' and UKIP's plans regarding taking individuals on MW off tax, I somehow suspect this won't involve raising NI thresholds and setting them on par with PAYE ones, which really it ought to if that is the intention.

    I suspect you mean Cameron, as he'd be the one in power if the referendum were to happen in 2017. The actual exit would most likely arrive just before the next GE anyway. I think they're better off pushing for a PR system, along with the LDs, though the latter may be less enthusiastic about that now.

    It took them 15 years. UKIP would do so in 15 months.

    And they didn't bankrupt us. I don't remember the UK defaulting on its loans. They merely mismanaged the budget dreadfully, we could probably have gone 5-10 years before actually going bankrupt
