    Which, if you inherit a big deficit - is as certain to occur as the sun rising...

    There was no conceivable plan of any kind, by anyone, no matter how optimistic or bizarre, which would have seen the debt fall during this parliament.

    400,000 a year. By immigration alone we're on track to overtake the German population in 50 years.
    If you take into account GB's much higher birthrate than Germany it'll happen a lot sooner than that.
