Yes - I have worked for the MOD too. It was more a dig at the DM who think that because the MOD are stumped it must be unexplained and perfect for Arthur C. Clarke to discuss. When its probably a meteor.

Well, there was the mystery explosion on the A1 nr Catterick, and worse, another one in Salford. My son is at uni there, Music theory etc, he can fart for England, as can I, so it was probably him.

Did anyone else hear these bangs reported in the good old DM? I did but just assumed they were a local firework party.
