    Boring people get bored

Here's a few suggestions. This is what I do when I'm bored:

Stand outside Curries watching x-factor, couple of cans of kestrel super, pulling my willy really really long!

Walk onto the trading floor at 7am.. Have a look around. Who's in? Who isn't? Who can I intimidate today? Then I go to the fridge and eat one of the meals left for the overnight FX traders. They get good grub. Noone challenges me- they know.

Aye, he was a good 'un. Puts it into perspective.

But, back on topic - lots of good advice in this thread.

Well, if nothing else at least you have realised you are a kn0b without having to be told.

I guess your next post is likely to be titled *** Bored? I'm God! ***

I am seriously bored at my current gig. I'm paid a good day rate for an 8 hour day but am actually productive for less than an hour of that. I actually have to find things to do to kill the time.

I seriously wonder why they need me as I'm more used to hitting the ground running and going full steam ahead for up to 12 hours a day. I thought I was seriously under performing and would end up with a one hit gig and have been actively looking for other stuff but the last couple of weeks have been really interesting. Firstly I've been continually congratulated on the excellent work I'm doing (what work???????), secondly my colleagues (all permies) have admitted that they have nothing to do either so we're all in the same boat, and thirdly they've offered me a 6 month extension.

I can only guess that my standards and pace are higher than theirs. I do in 3 months what I would normally expect to complete in 3 weeks and they're happy with that. Since everyone else is in the same boat I'm pretty much going to take it as a well deserved break and drag it out for as long as I can.

Just need to find a way to fill the time. I feel some 3 hour lunch breaks coming on.
