My personal inflation figure is sky high due to the fact I live life like a proper contractor, or at least Threaded. Then, when I have nothing I will wind the company down and claim all my benefits (after becoming a member of a minority group of course)...

No, the government do know it is over 2.5% (Tube, bus fares up 30% - thanks Ken, Not!). That's why they keep fiddling with what they use to calculate it. It's some dumb voters who have n't twigged yet, because being chav like the inflation is something like 2.5%. For the middle classes they are still dreaming of an inflation rate that low!

You mean inflation DOESNT take in to account the actual true real meaningful cost of living (like power, food, CT etc)?

I bet Roberto Mugabe would love to have people like what we have who determine inflation working for him!

    I liked this bit

The Office for National Statistics said an increase in the price of computer games and toys in August had outweighed a decline in petrol prices and air fares.
FFS, so inflation is not being driven by increased utility bills or petrol or mortgage payments, but increases in the cost of computer games and toys?

I think it's all a load of bulltulip. All of it.

    ...hmm

So inflation goes up, interest rates then go up which causes inflation go up so meaning we need to raise interest rates again.
