What I see is a man with a vested interest in being free to ply his trade across the entire European Union. To enjoy the lifestyle privilege bestowed upon him by conservative values i.e free markets within which to sell ones services at the best possible prices. i see a man who will selfishly defend to the hilt the mechanism that delivers his affluent and privileged lifestyle despite the misery that its policies pour onto the people of Europe (the EU ). I also see a hypocrite that enjoys the trappings of conservative free market values yet has the audacity to belittle the people that fight day to day to preserve the freedoms that he so enjoys.

Call it what you want but all I see in you is a self serving hypocrite

Conservatism is the ideology of putting oneself before others, bullying those who are weaker than you, discriminating against those who look or behave differently from you. Conservatives give more to those who have the most and take from those who have the least. Conservatism is a very limited perspective that is initially self-serving, but ultimately contributes to the practitioner living an unfulfilled life, and harming all those that he/she comes into contact.

Is there actually any difference now, I can't really seem to see any. Blair merged into Cameron who will merge into his successor...

If you mean the welfare minister, his comments were entirely reasonable, whatever Cameron etc may think. A lot of the apologies are cowardly PR.

We were always going to stay part of Britain as we are part of the British Isles.

The UK OTOH is going to break up soon anyway so we will have our Independence

Lots of union members also have asked that their subs to the Labour party are withheld.

Of course, this means the SNP will change a bit as these ex-Labour people become active in the organisation and the SNP operate a 1 member 1 vote system. Labour in Scotland still have the college system of voting so the members don't really get a big say in the big decisions.

Recent polls for Westminster voting intentions put SNP on 43% and Labour on 26% which would mean a loss of 20 seats for Labour. If you couple that with UKIP taking voters from the Tories down south it will be interesting in May.

I do wonder if there will be a massive anti Labour vote in Scotland, as you've pointed out there's a potential reason for it to happen, let's see (hope) if it materialises at an actual election.

Removing 30+ labour seats in Westminster would have a fun effect, with any luck it would prevent a Labour majority which is desirable at least to me
