As for the UK economy, it's not doing too bad. Us high end tax payers are certainly doing fine.

Redwood. I may have been a bit hasty.....

Redwood used to support charging in the NHS and deeper levels of privatisation. But I had a look at his site and these thoughts are not there.
So I rang his office and was told that his thoughts have developed since his famous 1988 pamphlet (released with Letwin) and he now supports an NHS free at the point of delivery.
The next election will be fought on the NHS and the economy. Cameron has history with the former and appears to be nailing the latter.
His son, Ivan, could never have been treated privately (given the nature of his disability) and Cameron is known to have seen the real benefit the NHS supplies. It’s one story he can tell with credibility.
I’m a lefty, taxation is good - but do I trust Labour to spend it well? Nope. Do I trust the Tories to tax the right people? Errr No.
Liberals? Tossers.
UKIP? Fat middle aged men.
Greens taking seats from the Libs
SNP taking seats from Labour.
The next election has six variables - it’s going to be very interesting.

Boob reductions can likewise prevent spiralling long-term costs from cancer and back injuries.
That's why big sweeping statements about any public service are bloody stupid and you should be instantly suspicious of anyone who proposes to 'fix' them with simple common sense changes. Common sense is only good for fixing common problems and juggling a national service is anything but common.Originally posted by d000hg View PostLetting the dangerously obese die would not exactly look good on the website either.
Good job I'm not in charge of NHS policy then. But I reckon Suity couldn't make things any worse

NHS website says 1 in 20 hospital deaths is preventable. That's quite a lot. Maybe boob jobs and gastric bands for fat f**kers could be restricted to save lives.

Any politician who does not pledge to give the NHS an unending supply of money is always accused of 'running the NHS into the ground'
The problem for me was that the NHS was initially formed to give basic healthcare for all - to make sure no one died of easily treatable diseases.
However now people seem to think they should be able to get free tit jobs or that A&E is somewhere to go when you cannot be arsed to go to work.
