    Its called balkanisation. I doubt it could happen in Scotland, but if it did happen it doesn't necessarily involve referendums. Lots of violent lobbing of sharp things at each other and demanding new state lines be drawn can work too.

    But more germane, will Berwick Rangers be kicked out of the Scottish League and be forced to play in the Bolton and District Sunday League and face huge defeats every week, like Celtic and Rangers would if they were so forced?
