    My personal rule is that if someone is going to assault me (or someone I am protecting) and I cannot negotiate or escape then I will render them physically incapable of carrying the assault out. That might mean pushing them over and walking away or it might mean wrapping a steel bar around their head it depends on what it takes to make them stop. As far as I am concerned it is their fault for putting me in that position. I do not care about race, gender, sexual orientation etc.

    everyone seems to think fighting is just as shown in the movies.

    Most of us aren't Jackie Chan we can't duck and dive then disarm opponents using a slap and a handy mop. Its a red mist and reacting.

    So all this run or do little damage is mostly posturing unless you are trained to fight.

    Thee continuous drip, drip of violence or put downs can be quite debilitating in a relationship, you have to either manage it out or get away.
