I had a scratched cornea once as a result of a bizarre riding accident. Turns out I had a bit of metal behind my eye.
The drugs don't work, man.

The night before my wedding I was putting something away in the shed and a branch whipped and caught me in the eye. I ended up in A&E and I found that I had a scratch on my cornea so impressive the doctor gasped when he saw it. That was seriously painful, it occaisionally flared up but if I blinked it was agony and if I rubbed it it was agony. Luckily it did not strike on the wedding day in church.

Seems to have recovered quite well now, 2 paracetamol on Saturday evening then 4 pints in the pub took the edge off it. Thanks for all your concern.
Once bertha goes I must go out and clear the pile of branches I left on the path.

The wife has been telling me to go to the hospital, they will at least give me eye drops with pain relief drugs in them I am told. She examined my eye with one of those torchy eye magnifying things and says I have a scratched cornea but there is pain behind the eye.
