we (in a rather unpc way) decided that gay men are just to lazy to try and find a woman
you know you have to wine, dine then pretend you care and all that before you get any chance of a bit of 8oo8.
but if you turn gay you can be munching the rug in no time at all with no more outlay than a babycham.

Maybe they do not want to meet ladies who are willing to go back for a ***** after you have bought them a bacardi breezerOriginally posted by xoggoth View PostCertainly can't see why any one under about 60 should bother with dating sites, just go to a club or disco. Gets more difficult after that, old farts still like to jump about but they'd have to stop the music at regular intervals to sweep up the walking sticks, false teeth and colostomy bags.
seriously many many many women I know would never go to a club/disco to find a partner and if they did happen to go to a club with the girls really would not want some drunk muppet trying to hit on them.

I thought online dating was used by crazy mental types from Mumsnet.

Instead of online dating, has anyone tried daygaming?
This is where you go up to women on the streets and try to chat them up. Indeed you have to stop them as they are walking along - if they carry on walking they don't fancy you, but if they stop to chat, you're in there

Yes, very much this. One night stands/promiscuity are not good for my soul....Originally posted by wonderboy View PostYou appear to be attempting to refute my hypothesis by fitting neatly into it (by going the promiscuity route). Ultimately I found promiscuity unsatisfying, but each to their own.
The OP however was talking about romance.

I know a number of people who use e harmony and have found partners some of which have worked out.
I lot of people use dating sites because
a) The work a lot and simply do not have that much social time.
b) The live in a small town where pretty much every single person has boned every other single person.
So to those which say it is sad - you are wrong it is often the only option.
To those who use dating sites as somewhere to find ***** buddies cool as long as you make it clear from the off what you are after.

And that defines your opinion on dating sites.
I'm thinking IT is involved somewhere...
Carry on

Of course, you may just end up being the subject of some huge research experiment....Originally posted by ASB View PostYes. I reckon paid for ones are probably better. There is some chance of them being serious. Lots just seem to want to chat for ever. Quite a lot are as mad as a box of frogs. And you need the skin of a rhino.
