There is a difference between having a very biased opinion on an issue and understanding the position of others who have to live with the realities of that issue on a daily basis.
Maybe world problems would be solved a bit quicker if more of our "leaders" could put themselves in other peoples' shoes.

Well said. When an MP can't (assuming something is done about it) even speak his mind, sympathise with a particular group, point out how he might understand someone else's reasoning when adopting their perspective, or even advocate violence (after all every time they vote to go to war they are advocating violence) - then how the **** can that be any kind of democracy? It's democracy by convention rather than any real meaningful democracy.

David 'The Jews' Ward, yes he has form
Presumably his reelection depends on the mad mullah vote for him, either that or he is genuinely racist

Really? Ignore israel vs gaza etc - that's not what I care about.

I've no love for democracy, but if you're going to go for it then at least have some kind of honesty and integrity! 'Democracy for all, so long as it aligns with my own personal values & preferences' seems pretty dickish to me. What a shame most voters don't see that for themselves and continue to vote in people of questionable integrity.
