With the current EU vs Putin situation going on, I can only see deflation coming.

If you are up for the challenge, how about doing a gig in Europe? (Check the different rules applying re tax and there are threads on the forum about several countries). You might not be able to use your limited co in a few, but the experience would look good on your cv.

It took me a good few months to get my first gig. Very anxious times. Perhaps give yourself a cut off date, but also look at lower rates to get your foot in the door and be willing to go further afield initially.

Use the time off to do as much reading as possible re contracting. Work on your CV until it shines. Keep plugging away, Somthing (permie or contract) will come up. Chin up!

Don't discount going back to permie. Obviously contracting pays more but if you are going to spend months not finding a job then maybe contracting isn't the way to go. 2 months to find work isn't totally out of the ordinary either so if you can't survive it then again, contracting isn't for you. What isn't working in your favour is the fact you are new and probably give those vibes off so it makes you a risk. There are many 100's of people with more experience than you and are seasoned contractors and they will always get picked first.

What area of the country are you looking? Oop nurf seems "alright" at the moment and that's even if you filter out some of the exciting new opportunities they claim to have if I just send in my CV

I was made redundant at the end of last year. About a month and a half a go I decided to go into contracting. Yay!

I set up my ltd company and was ready to go. The only problem is that I can't get a bloody contract. I have a good 8 years of ASP.NET C# experience. The agents seem to love me but for some reason the clients don't. I haven't even managed to secure an interview. Can anyone offer a bit of help. What's the market like at the moment? Seems like I'm called often for perm roles and not that often when it comes to contracts.
