how exactly do you expect to find a contract. Is there a stork who delivers them or are you waiting for Santa....
No I meant I do agree with b,c,d. All of which I have been doing recently.

Would be nice if santa could sort something as well though.

I've done the same as Damon and gone to visit an agent. Probably a waste of time (it is so far) but got time to do this.

All goes well....doesn't ask for references....does check passport details to ensure eligible to work.....and then sets up a face to face today as he wants to meet his senior candidates before feeling able to put them forward to clients so we are meeting today as he is on the way to the client site....hopefully he will be able to tell them he has found the ideal candidate!

I know the cynics may say he will just physhing, wasting my time, pumping me for info that he can use to impress the client yada yada, but without being positive and engaging with him there is no way of finding out...

A refreshing difference from the now 'normal' telesales approach. Reminds me of the old days!!!!!

Yep - I've had calls from the agent while waiting for my train home / walking to my car after the interview. The client didn't offer me the gig while I was in the room as they were passing everything through the agent.

I've also had to wait a few days for a response while clients interviewed other candidates. I've been fairly lucky in that the main agent who has found me work has actually called me to tell me what's going on, and not to expect to hear anything for a couple of days.

    FFS. Its getting worse.

Twice now in two weeks have I had phone interviews arranged and waited and waited. Last time, it took until the next day to find out what was happening and eventually the call took place but no apology at all.

Supposed to have another one - different client - at 3pm. No sign of. Best thing was 3pm was REALLY awkward for me but client couldn't do 4pm so I've put myself out sitting here and its nearly 4pm anyway.

Bloody rude if you ask me. REALLY REALLY REALLY pissed me off that people don't have a common decency these days.
