[QUOTE=BOBJ]Hmm, the key thing I forgot to say - I have to go through an agent - they won't work without them. QUOTE]
Phone the client and say you have a preffered agent you work through.
Then ring up an agent you know and offer them the work - as a billing service only - you'll supply the contractual terms.

Hmm, the key thing I forgot to say - I have to go through an agent - they won't work without them. So this of course changes everything. They actually tried to offer me the rate they paid when I started out as a contractor with them all those years ago. Now the cheeky get of an agent has sent me a text message saying ring me after lunch. I DON'T THINK SO...

I'd charge out my own 6 year old daughter as having B.O. experience at £200/day, just because she can use a mouse!

Typical non-London rates (which this is) are about £300 to £450....I'm thinking of £400+....the thing is for this particular work there is only me in the entire world who can do it....err, okay not true but I can do it way quicker and better than anyone else just because of having done so much of it in the past at this place, with these people and the same kit (nothing has changed since I left) etcetc

Going back to the mothership
I started my IT career at a UK bank. After 5 years I left and returned a few years later to do a 2 year contract. Another year down the line they're asking me back for some short term stuff. I'm far and away the best person for this work.
So what do I charge them? I was very cheap contracting there first time round. I recently turned down a role for the same company (not my old department) which was offering about £320 a day. Thoughts?
cheers,Tags: None
