I am not sure you are fit to be a contractor. we all know work will eventually come and will definitely require more hours. In short everything balances it out.
You may well be right , the fear of having no work and being able to be paid off at any time with no reason is not an enjoyable situation.
Wait and see I will be going hell for leather next week and wishing I was sitting on my arse

Actually, they're exactly the same thing. A means to an end. That end being the acquisition of wealth.

Or are you telling me you contract for the good of your client's health?

Tried phoning non-existent boss - no answer. Still on full pay but I'm literally pissing myself off as my hands are tied.

Keeping being a keen basa or lay of the gas until management gets in contact?

Just be happy siting here doing nothing or keep pressing people until the ball moves?

I don't like getting cash for nothing.

    What would you do...........

It's a changeover situation so politics are in play.
I'd check my spelling and grammer.

I didn't put <sarcasm></sarcasm> on as I though most would got the gist. I will make a point of doing so next time to avoid confusion.

Happens all the time. Big companies waste money cos they've got a contractor on board but they aint set up for them or ready....

You can only do so much hassling until it gets annoying. Ask nicely but in the end you gotta go with the flow...

    Work will come eventually......

You'll have some idea of the project in hand. Is there nothing you can do
to gen up on the technologies to be used? Surely there's something where your experience doesn't quite match the jobspec or where it could be enhanced by a quick refresher?
Maybe start developing stuff around the work you're expecting to be given?
    Sort of 'proceding at risk'.
As long as you've got the basics; pc, internet access, pass you've got all you need.

Danger is that some officious bastard will come along and ask 'Well what HAVE you been doing?'
Answer 'I sat on my arse' or 'I did a load of preparation on my own initiative'.
Great advice and exactly what I should be focusing on.

    Thanks for replys
