free market at play.... To be honest. nothing surprises me about Barclays anymore
-
They were offering 250 a day for Service Managers (not the performace managers etc) just after they walked everyone 3 years ago. I wasn't aware it had gone up and down since so it is what I would expect from Barclays at the moment.
Dunno how they get away with it. They must have some right toss pots contracting there now.

DF?Originally posted by BolshieBastard View PostJust an update, agent contacted me about a DF role at radbroke, £250 a day. I laughed. 250 for a DF, if that doesnt indicate general rate cuts, I dont know what does.
to be honest, £250 to work close to home is not such a bad rate in the current climate.... I think it will pick up in a few weeks time but you can't blame them for trying to get somebody in on a reduced rate.

Yes, but that's different from rate cut for contractors that we are talking about. If we were talking about cutting contractor rates and replacing with cheap bob permies I would agree with you.Originally posted by eek View PostThey won't be contractors tho they will be Inter Company Transfers fresh off the plane via whichever outsourcing company is flavour of the week.

Mate of mine is there on a good rate and no whiff of a cut..Originally posted by ronanm View PostI've been at Barcap a good while and have never had a rate cut. There was one introduced a while back but I got an exemption. Didn't hear about this one either..

Took me a year to get my LBG 10% reversed...and that took a very supportive client to fight it all the way through.
