now leaving this forum. No answers so far. Instead im having people giving me information that i already know or is completely useless to me...tada folksOriginally posted by mos View Posti actually do not mind being undercut as long as they can offer the same services for better price. It is the quality of services and communication difficulties (not mentioning blaming culture and information hogging they are bringing with them, especially if en masse as often the case).
It is also the hypocrisy of 'good value for money' myth. What they are paid (even in 190 a day) is far to high considering.

We just love other people coming over on those visas and under-cutting us all with stupidly low rates.

One can only stay on the Tier 1 post study for 2 years and it is a non renewable category/....Originally posted by LKK View PostCan you not stay with your Tier 1 anymore? Or get it renewed?? Because Tier 1 is the best option.
You mentioned £50k perm role is usually a senior manager with many many years of experience.... most senior managers (in finance) wil ask for more than £50k.

Looks like Tier2 has been capped to only 20700 a year. Doesn't say if that includes or excludes people switching from another visa. I would sincerely hope it includes it.

And this where the sore point is. Many of the jobs on the list got there not because there are no skilled people to do the work, but rather they would not entertain the likes of black apple offering them the job at 30% of the going rate.Originally posted by missjay View Postyes correct. it does not necessarily mean the local workforce cannot meet it but it has to be within the ''shortage occupation list'', u can check the list out as compiled by the office of national statistics....so its a case of proving one is meeting such ''highly skilled roles' etc
My local Indian takeaway almost went bust because UK boarders agency turned up to interview the Bengal chef and then decided he needed to leave the country... I don't see anyone of the locals able to cook Bengal food so who the hell would replace him?
However the uk financial industry are making the local work force redundant at an alarming rate Hundreds of thousands have lost their jobs in the last four years. So it would be hard for you to argue that your skills are in short supply.

But what roles do you do and someone might be able to tell you if you are the right level. A complaints handler won't cut it and no point just picking one and saying it's you if your CV doesn't back it up. It will have to be managerial, decision making or some kind of coding/programming I expect.Originally posted by missjay View Postyes...there is a shortage occupational list which defines such roles in various industries!
obviously you are not aware of any of this so why bother going further which my job specific roles, and from your previous responses I doubt you genuinely are interested in my posts or comments anyways...
Am kinda wondering why a highly skilled workforce cannot use google to find it though.....

What skills are you offering that cannot be met by the local workforce?
