Effectively you´re self employed in Malaysia. You need help from a local Malaysian accountant.

Yes it's possible. I do it. However, I do it through a local (not uk) company and the money is paid into a local bank. The UK end is easy. The Malaysian end is where you'll need local advice.

Contracting for UK company living abroad ?
Hi All,
I am currently in permanent employment. I am moving abroad to Malaysia and asked my employer if there is any way for me to not resign and keep my job. They have suggested that there may be an option for me to become a contractor and keep working on my current project 'working from home'. This way if the arrangement doesnt work out they can let me go.
Is contracting for a UK company while living abroad possible ? I will be paid in GBP and my banking will also be in UK.
I am a british citizen btw.
Any advice will be helpful.
