I don't really feel the need to justify myself, but for the record I have over 10 years contract development experience. I was originally a lead developer on this project at inception but we needed someone to take a higher level view and workout the overall design, this is done in collaboration with the dev teams.

I'm just the guy that works out how all the smaller bits need to fit together and how they need to work. Its up to the dev teams to decide the best way to implement. Call me what you want I'm sure I've been called worse!

We are using the latest version of the .net framework, ef - code first for orm, wcf, structure map, rhino mocks, team city for continual deployment git, for source control. We are also using Biztalk as a Service Bus hoping to migrate up to the esb toolkit at some point.

Rates - and for this I apologies £300 to £350 per day depending upon experience...

If anyone is interested please pm me.

Thanks for the pm's so far I will get back to you over the next few days.

There are different types of architects. A seasoned developer could be a software architect but may not necessarily have any great deal of expertise on infrastructure architecture. A technical architect may have knowledge and experience to be both a software and infrastructure architect but they may not necessarily be able to do enterprise architecture. Its also not just about design, its also process, tools, having knowledge of various patterns, selling your solutions to stakeholders, etc, etc

Hmm I wonder who you got that job off. Enjoy Basel.

tbh, regardless of the terminology, it's nice seeing someone post any opportunity here, let's have more of it I say

Hence my use of the phrase "their idea of". In my experience, the combination of words used in the OP generally translates to "you will be subjected to micro-managing for low remuneration".

Anyway, I'm not here to pooh-pooh people posting genuine gigs. I think it's a great idea for ClientCos and agents to be able to post roles here directly for free, and that CUK should maybe even have a separate forum for that purpose that would rival alternatives like JobServe. You just need to be realistic when you're advertising, and accept that the feedback you get here may be blunt but will usually be accurate. Stating that you're seeking qualities that regularly top the list of most sought-after skills, but that you're paying rates that are "not fantastic" probably doesn't qualify as realistic. Good isn't cheap and cheap generally isn't good. However, I wish the OP good luck with this one anyway.
