Recommend accountants

Just wondering, how many people do you deal with at SJD? I seem to get emails from at least a dozen different people there.

Mostly from the Account Manager who to date has managed things perfectly well and answered all technical quetstions by return. Some from the lady wot does the payroll, reminders from the lady wot does the VAT and reminders from the admin team. Plus there's the real accountant should I need one.

Personally I neither want nor need personal service from named individuals, I want a service that works not a pen pal. Who delivers it is pretty much irrelevant. YMMV

If someone messed my accounts up I would expect the person that did them to be responsible, not the whole company...

Can someone write a script, where if the title contains "Recommend" "accountant", it does not create a new thread, and redirects the user to the post that NLUK wrote somewhere listing all the useful info. Can work along with the profanity filter I guess?

Wonder if the fact the poster put this in the business/contracts section and not the Accounting/Legal one might be a factor??

Just a thought from me... I do find it very difficult a company the size of SJD can get something wrong 3 times in a row.... What I do find easier to understand that one of the people at SJD could. If someone messed my accounts up I would expect the person that did them to be responsible, not the whole company... but saying that when you are so hacked off I am sure you would just blame the whole set up I guess.

As I have had good service before I would be asking for change of person first before sacking the whole lot.. but that is IMO...

Presumably you have taken your complaint to them direct?

With regards to staying with a provider that is incompetent and messes everything up..............3 years..................seriously???

We get this asked a lot so I put a thread together awhile ago. I am also with SJD and also very happy with their service but tried to be impartial in the thread.

It is made up of accountants that have been recommended on here in the past as well as a few local offerings if you want to do that but I would say go for the big guys. I have never had to meet my accountant face to face in a number of years so the locality isn't a winning attribute..

Try searching and you might find several long threads disussing this very question. But why did you stay with an accountant that messed up once, never mind three times?

Then again I've used SJD since 2002 and they've never yet made a mistake...
