At the end of a contract, most clients will give it you. Sometimes you have to ask, sometimes when they tell you you arent being renewed, why etc.Originally posted by amorts View PostI am about to move on from a 9 month term working with a client.
It has been challenging but ultimately successful. I am considering at selecting 1 or 2 people I have worked with during this time to give me some honest feedback to see what I things they thought I did well or didn't do so well.
I often find that people's perceptions of you can be different then you may think so could be a worthwhile exercise.
Anyone ever done anything like this before? Thoughts?
Ive had clients give agents very positive feedback at the end of a contract. But that hasnt encouraged the agents to find the next contract for whatever reason!
Let's be honest, the only fB you dont want is that you are a waster.

I don't bother formally asking for feedback and if get it formally or informally I treat it with a pinch of salt. If it is good then it is good for the ego for 20 mins or so then back to reality.
Many permies have an opinion of contractors which will sway their opinion and others dont give a monkies which also sways opinion. There is the the set of people that don't want the hassle and say something nice to keep you happy. Somewhere out there is the odd person who might give you valuable and honest feedback.... so which one is it???
Get them to put it in writing with permission to publish it, recommend you on linked in and forget the rest.
Best feedback will be when he calls you for another gig.

How would you make sure it was anonymous? Its hard to get honest feedback otherwise. Certainly I tend to ignore others faults and tell them what they want to here - it recently helped secure me a very nice position.Originally posted by amorts View PostI am about to move on from a 9 month term working with a client.

It's something i want to do when my current contract is up later this year. It will be something to place in the Customer Testimonials section of my website (when i get 'round to creating it!)
Also, ask for recommendations for your linkedin.com profile.
