I have an agent friendly CV with lots of buzz words which I use for jobsites. If I get a bite from an agent I would always ask them for a full job spec so I can then tailor the CV to the actual job which I then let them send to the Client.
PS Don't worry about losing credibility with agents, they dont care they just see you as a paycheck, the quicker you realise this the less dirty you feel when they hand you over a large wad of cash and never call you again until they want something

Job titles go with the role you wre doing ad really are only of interest to the client at that time. The front page of my CV describes me as either a PM or an SDM/consultant depending on the role I'm after and I shuffle the key acheivements around (I have a fair list to choose from) to align to the client's requriements. That's what gets you the job, not the labels.

CVs confuse agents full stop.
What you need to do is send the right CV along for the role as the client will not see the different version of your CV.

Roles in CV
Dear Forum,
My roles at various times revolves around various aspects of ITIL Service Management as well Business Systems Analysis (requirements gathering/analysis, domain modelling etc) because i have competnecy (i indeed holds ITIL v2 Managers Certificate) in both areas.
Can the Forum please advice on the best way to use my various job titles interchangeably without losing credibility with the agents. I currently have two versions of my CV with the roles of Service Delivery Manager in one and Snr Business Systems Analysis in the other (both roles specifed for the same client within the same period) and then use the appropriate CV for the appropriate role. Could this confuse the agents and indeed a potential client ?Tags: None
