Client's own timesheet

I worked in a place like this once.
They even had a "new starter timesheet system induction CBT course" that you had to complete before you could use it.
I 'avoided' it for about 6 months because I was too busy delivering work, and so a junior PMO had to put my time in for me

What you do is complete their timesheet system and then ask them to sign your employer's one.

I've decided that filling in their timesheet system isn't in my contract, so i'm going to charge them £20/day to fill it in

What you do is complete their timesheet system and then ask them to sign your employer's one.

After all your employer needs one for their records as well as otherwise how are they going to know what their employees tasks where on this project?

New gig... client wants me to fill in their own online timesheet (separetly from the agents). I've been given an "employee #" to login with

Feel like telling them to piss off, but what can you do....

Fill it in, you are an expense to them and they might like to know how that expense is being allocated. This will then allow them to allocate you just to the work that provides value to the business. Which will then mean you can take the ultimate step in proving your IR35 status and only work the hours you need to rather than just filling a chair 9-5 every day!

Last 4 gigs have all had client timesheet systems. Mind you, I've always appeared as "Contractor" on them, not "Employee". What does the system show once you've logged in?

don't sign nuffin, don't use any of the facilities, take your own pens and pencils, climb in through the window to avoid using their carpet and take a mobile toilet and bog roll and make sure your off the premeses before you use it

If you think filling in some numbers on their system is enough to tip the balance as being seen as an employee... then you ARE a disguised employee.

I don't think this is a problem. It is client direction maybe but it isn't unreasonable for them to have some kind of project time v buget booking system. You are not filling it is from the view of you being a permie, you are a project resource and still have to book what time is spent on what for cost tracking. I am sure this would be easy to argue if you got investigated.
