Sorry to hear that you've been messed about by an Agent.

As far as I can see EmptyLemon is just a referral service (not unlike Jobserve) rather than an agency so there isn't any risk in dealing with them?

    Employers pay for advertising slots.

Unlike many other Job Boards, Empty Lemon does not provide Job Adverts. We provide Job Slots. A Job Slot can be edited and re-advertised as many times as you like before its expiry date. So once you have filled one job, you can change your job slot to advertise another job without paying for another advert.

I would agree that the website is very bare on information as to how you can help the various markets for example contractors.

    [Mod] Hi Will,

I've removed the link to your website.

Please take a look at the T's & C's of the forum regarding advertising. If you want to help members in the areas of your company's specialism, admin will happily change your ID to will@myco, thus promoting your company within the rules of the site.

I'm presuming you linked to the "About Us" page of the website which, to be honest, doesn't tell me anything about who you are and only has links to your Twitter feeds.

I'd have thought you'd take this as an opportunity to provide a bit of background info on who 'the team' are, what experience they have in this area and and why people should use you to forum uers who are your core audience.

Contract roles in - based mostly in Watford are in the process of being posted on the site now.

I know I can't post a link to the site, but, i'll give you a clue, the name of the site is an anagram of Employment.

(or you can just search for emptylemon on google.)

In terms of contractors it would be great to hear from anyone who could help us adapt our board to help you guys more. We placed a contractor who contacted me direct last week asking if we had any contract positions, I asked him to sign up, apply for skill-matching roles and explain his situation i.e. not looking for a permanent positions. He's got a short term position from this.

This is the value of working with only Employers direct, not to mention a recruitment consultancy getting part of your cut.

We are about to introduce a quick apply option which will speed up the application process.

Any questions or ideas (or if you just need help), give me a shout.

    Thanks

    Will.
How about some background on who the team is, what differentiates you and how you are finding things with recruiters - i.e. state of the market.

Took on-board the feedback and I asked our sales team to focus on some contracts roles.

We've got a couple coming on in Watford this afternoon, I'll post when I have the details.

Nope. However the average latency for a job submission is around two hours, that's how long it takes an agent to find three CVs with the required keywords (hey, you don't think they actually read them, do you?). So a job board with stuff much over a day old like this seems to be is not going to be of any use. If they can attain critical mass and get jobs posted there directly, rather than as a Broadbean feed or similar, then they may have a value.

Inicdentally, there are some 1500 job sites out there in the UK. Why do we only ever talk about three or four of them?
