I refer you back to my post - contact your case officer, who should have contacted you by now...

I do apologise. I quoted the wrong post.

To be clear - the latter...

Generally I would agree with what people say about telling people you have it is grounds for losing it and we assume telling the odd person, wearing you badge around colleagues... Small potatoes.

I would hazard a guess that posting this information on an open web forum certainly would be frowned upon though.

Bollox - the last SC role I did, everyone had different badges based on their level of security clearance, so you knew who should be in different parts of the building and who shouldn't be there.

Yeah, I think it is. It seems all the advice he offers is "you're ****ed/stupid" or "use a search engine", which begs the question why bother?

Oh I know wait I know why, he can be a big man on the internets. Well done, no really, congrats. If you're happy to listen to his drivel carry on.

To the OP; don't bother asking serious clearance related questions here. Go directly to your case officer who is managing your clearance at whichever agency is clearing you and ask them.

    Job jobbed!!!

No, it isn't. Have a look at the DV form, then have a look at the SC form. They ask completely different questions. SC doesn't ask about your partner's financial circumstances, for a start. SC doesn't ask where you bank. SC doesn't ask when you were last overdrawn. SC doesn't ask why you went overdrawn. SC doesn't ask the last time you went to a bookmakers.

Without knowing what the OP did, why they did it, and what they would do in the same situation, no-one here is going to be able to say whether they would or would not get DV clearance. In fact, even knowing all that, no-one here is going to be able to say for certain whether they would get the clearance or not.

To the OP - if you are going to go for it, then you will be expected to know when you defaulted and why for each occasion. DVA already know that you did it, they just need the bigger picture before they can make an assessment.

As it was explained to me - Being in debt is not a bar to DV clearance. It is how you handle the situation.

    I hope this helps.
You didn't fall for their cunning trap and respond "sell state secrets to the Chinese for a cool £100k" then?
