You're either at the Northern Rock or Longbenton?

If you want to wind up the local folk, ask them if the new castle is anywhere near the old castle in the city centre.

The only minus points I recall was the crappy metro system from the airport.

Apart from that, its all good.

Aye.....that would really wind them up...
Better still ask them where you could buy a Sunderland top

A contractor once told me of the time he went to Newcastle to start a new contract. He's from Bradford. Straight off the train, he went into a pub. Sawdust on the floor. Went to the bar.
    "Pint of lager please".
    "We don't serve pouffs here"...

But this was 30 years ago...

Ten years later it was quite a nice place to be. A long way from anywhere else though. So eventually, we moved south. (overran, and ended up in Switzerland).

    Right, near Central.

Yes, I can vouch for Corbridge too! Some decent pubs there.

The Stage Door nightclub on a wednesday night, its the student nurses day off the next day!

The overall redness of the decor sets it off nicely as well!!!

I was going to take the missus to one of my fav pubs just over the Central Motorway, the Stout Fiddler. Good ale and good food. Bit studenty sometimes. Called something like Moot now! Pah!

The Old George in the city centre is a good pub though and the Lambton at Eighton Banks is very good.
