To answer to OP's question - I recently took the EXIN exam at the local Prometric test station and recieved a print out of my score + confirmation that I had passed the exam.
About 3 weeks after sitting the exam, I recieved a cert from EXIN and a little square green badge.
Cost of exam = £100

- Which is more valuable..?
Either. At the end of the day all you are going to put on your CV is ITIL Foundation. I wouldn't go in to any more detail than that. The qualification isn't really that useful if you already work in an ITIL environment as every company uses it to different levels. If your brand new to the IT service there could be some different. Just get the cert the easiest way possible and then learn about IT service. Like a driving test. Pass it then learn to drive.
- Which one is more costly..? (I know Exin takes £100 for foundation)..
Don't know
- Can I take ISEB ITIL V3 through Prometric..?
Doesn't matter as per question 1. Just take your test pass and away you go.
- Both ITILs (ISEB & Exin) have same syllabus..??
It is possible to pass the ITIL foundation by just parrot learning all the past papers and examples found on the web. You could get a bare pass by learning less than 5 papers I reckon. The question re-use is staggering. As a professional qualification it is rubbish, bit like the Prince 2 but has to be done to quantify your ability to work in an ITIL environment nowadays.

[QUOTE=Tingles;965128]If the exam is by the ISEB you should receive a certificate and details how to obtain the "insipid" looking green badge about 10 days after completing the exam.
If so ISEB ITIL V3 is better value for money I think..That too costs £100 & can be done at Prometric centre..Last edited by Darren_Test; 6 October 2009, 17:45.

OMG lol!!! <speechless>Badge for any one or only for those took training through Fox IT??
I have to agree. This is foundation, like the lowest level and can be gained through a £100 exam. Hardly a badge of honour but if your earned it I guess your within your rights to get whats due to you. Guess it would match the AA and IAM grill badges on the car....I'm not sure why you are worrying about the badge....
If I saw someone wearing a 'greenie' I'd think he was somewhat lacking in confidence or self esteem.....
Takes allsorts...Last edited by northernladuk; 6 October 2009, 17:40.

At least you used to - I don't know if they've been swamped with requests. I'd contact them and find out.
I had the red badge and kept it in my purse for safe keeping, which was great until my purse got nicked..
Now I view them as a bit beneath me, tbh - I've gone past the badge stage...

I took my exam in a Prometric centre. I got the pass printout (call that a certificate? Pah!) but no badge, nor any hint of how to get one.Originally posted by Darren_Test View PostThat's my question...I have seen in forums saying about badges. So not sure Prometric centre give those certificates/badge after exam?
Did you take exam in Prometric centre? Did you get any certificate after that same day from Prometric?

It was a dig at the number of people walking round with badges who haven't been near a test. I am sure we all know a few.
Muttley posted a nonsense post as well. I wait with bated breath for your respose to his comment.
Oops....earlier post removed...:-)

The badges live on - see them at http://www.itilnews.com/index.php?pa...ngs_and_Queens
You might gather form the snappy web link and the number of badges available that ITIL is getting just a little out of hand these days...
