no there will be a get out clause.

I son't see it as a big deal, possible that the agency tried it on, but I doubt it a lot of contractors on the bench willing for 3 months. More likely that the client rescoped.

You said in a different post that you want to leave because it's "dull" and you're "loaded" and money isnt a factor for you..... but then you talk about suing the agency because you're being canned early with the notice period stated in the contract (that you signed up to).

So it sounds like to me that money is a factor you.... money that you don't have to work for that is.

Just leave then if that's what you wanted. It was probably only ever a 3 month contract by the client, but the agency stuck a 6 month tag on to make it more attractive. Either that or the client is binning you early which is understandable given your rather puzzling remarks about 'what to do' = try to scam some money from someone.

With over 600 posts behind him, he should know a contract is only as long as your notice period.

I don't get it. Why would they "call the client and declare" it is 3 months. Why would the agency want less...

If they have any kind of notice then they can invoke that. As has been said before, your contract is only as long as your notice period.

If not, then it might be possible to sue. It's quite difficult to do that - usually because of the terms of most contracts, which are heavily worded in their favour.

There may well be clauses like "if the client doesn't pay us, we don't pay you", so they can just turn around and say they haven't been paid - and you can't sue the end client because you don't have a contract with them.

None of it insurmountable, but they can reel off clauses that will make it very tough to sue.
