    ....
I've had that. They found a way of making a requirement at grade Y.

it does nobody any favours including yourself to work at such a low rate. Drives everything lower. Best off out indeed!

Good on you for having a pair. It's guys like you that help stabilise rates.

All the best and good luck finding a new role.

Response from client was to refuse my new rate offer.

Ok, well good luck finding some fool who will work 5 months solid without time off for the equivalent perm rate with none of the benefits of perm employment.

I happily accepted the result and explained that I found their terms unacceptable, that if in 2 weeks from now they still require my services they can call me and I will sign a new contract until the end of the required period on the same rate I was on.

I'm not expecting a phone call anytime soon on this..

Back to Jobserve from Monday then.

But if the money is good ... that's different!

Fair enough, just remember how you felt the last time you were benched, it seemed to be getting to you a bit.

Best of luck, fingers crossed that they accept or make a good counter offer

started a topic An interesting week..

    An interesting week..

Just had a contract extension offered, I've referred it back to the agency to tell them I will sign it on condition the client agrees to my new rate.

I guess soon enough I'll either be working away happy in the knowledge I'm being paid a fair price for my work, or I'll be enjoying the weather in my back garden be it good or bad whilst surfing jobserve on the laptop.

It might sound arrogant, but they are taking the p*ss with the rate and quite frankly the terms they are requesting (such as no time off in 6 months) etc I find a bit unacceptable. I'm willing to honor their terms in return for financial compensation.. don't care either way really, feels a win/win whatever happens.
Working...
