From the context quoted above, "they" = agenciesOriginally posted by bayliner123 View PostIt is the most dishonest thing these Agencies do - and they all do the same - when they set up the contract with your umbrella there is no longer a contract with you and as such if you take them to Court for breach they will argue to the Judge there never was a contract between you and them

Interested to know who "they" is in "they all do it" - agencies, umbrellas or both?Originally posted by fidot View Postbut isn't that a reason not to use an umbrella rather than not use G2, particularly if "they all do it"?

Do not use g2 recruitment ltd - scam
Hi
I am an experienced Engineer and I am currently suing G2 in County Court
In a nutshell what they do - like almost all Agencies - is agree with the Engineer on Terms and Conditions - i.e notice pay, duration of contract however when they set up the contract with your umbrella company they CHANGE the conditions and cut you out of the loop - in essence if they have promised you i.e one month's notice pay and a sic months contract when they set up the contract with your umbrella company you are converted into " zero hour "
It is the most dishonest thing these Agencies do - and they all do the same - when they set up the contract with your umbrella there is no longer a contract with you and as such if you take them to Court for breach they will argue to the Judge there never was a contract between you and them

I did an 8 month gig a few years ago, and yes the rate was a bit tulip. Other than that, no problems at all and paid weekly on time. They have however spammed my inbox with entirely unsuitable roles ever since (I'm not a bloody junior PHP developer!).Originally posted by Sausage Surprise View PostTheir rates have always been utter tulip in the roles they've sent me. Probably why I've never bothered with them.

Just sharing my experience. It's very difficuly to plan if you don't know when you're going to be paid. It's also difficult to concentrate on work if you don't know if you're going to be paid. They were always apologetic but never seemed to get it together.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostAs you are running a business you should do debt recovery or are you trying to stir up trouble?

I had a good experience working through G2 (about 18 months).
Always paid on time, good comms before the contract, left me alone afterwards.
They haggled, but eventually accepted a fairly large rate rise on renewal.
However, the individual agent I contracted through is no longer there.

Stay well clear

I'm currently with G2. They're alright. Nothing special like... I expect they're the usual band of hairgel-heavy, cheap-suit agents and I don't get any courtesy calls like yourself, FarmerPalmer, but they do pay on time etc. Oh they do have a rather extortionate margin, but lets not get onto that debate on this thread.

Well after contracting through them for the last 4 weeks - they look good.
End of first week - agent rang to check with me that I was happy and everything was ok.
I've been invoicing weekly - on Monday when I get my time-sheet signed by the client - and the money is in my company's bank account by the weekend.
so from that perspective they are stunning.

Did you say anything or decide to exit the conversation gracefully thereafter?Originally posted by malvolio View PostJust phoned them about a fairly senior role, 25 minutes after it hits Jobserve (long live RSS, says I).
Agent1 answers. "Can I talk to Agent2 please about your role in somewhereshire" Agent1 - "Oh sorry we just filled that role, but send in your CV and we'll see what we can find..."
Nuff said.
