    G2 Recruitment - opinions ?

I am being offered a contract through G2 recruitment :

    http://www.g2recruitment.com/

They picked my CV up off CWJobs and have an exclusive agreement with a local household name company.

It is not an agent that I have used or come across before.

Has anyone else had experience of them ?

It has been a while - I went permanent when IR35 came in but am back on the market again - and after 7.5 years of political wrangling it's nice to be out of it again.

Get loads of mails from them about jobs - mostly nothing to do with my skillset mind you. But I guess that makes them not too small.

    Never worked for them though

Just phoned them about a fairly senior role, 25 minutes after it hits Jobserve (long live RSS, says I).

Agent1 answers. "Can I talk to Agent2 please about your role in somewhereshire" Agent1 - "Oh sorry we just filled that role, but send in your CV and we'll see what we can find..."

      Nuff said.

Did you say anything or decide to exit the conversation gracefully thereafter?

Just said I'd send in a CV. Which I might do, one day...

Well after contracting through them for the last 4 weeks - they look good.

End of first week - agent rang to check with me that I was happy and everything was ok.

I've been invoicing weekly - on Monday when I get my time-sheet signed by the client - and the money is in my company's bank account by the weekend.

so from that perspective they are stunning.

I'm currently with G2. They're alright. Nothing special like... I expect they're the usual band of hairgel-heavy, cheap-suit agents and I don't get any courtesy calls like yourself, FarmerPalmer, but they do pay on time etc. Oh they do have a rather extortionate margin, but lets not get onto that debate on this thread.
It's about time I changed this sig...

                Stay well clear

I would advise staying well away from G2. I was with them for a year and a half and they frequently forgot to pay me. They were very insistent that timesheets were sent to them immediately, so they got paid, but at the end of the month you had to hassle them to get paid. I'm still waiting for my last 6 weeks pay.

As you are running a business you should do debt recovery or are you trying to stir up trouble?

I had a good experience working through G2 (about 18 months).
Always paid on time, good comms before the contract, left me alone afterwards.
They haggled, but eventually accepted a fairly large rate rise on renewal.
However, the individual agent I contracted through is no longer there.
