I’m a generalist PM so not in your field, but here goes my last 3 contracts (all inside) -
My current contract (mid sized insurance firm) was through applying to a LinkedIn ad, summer 2023.
My previous contract (public sector dept) was through applying on PSR, autumn 2022.
The one prior to that was through Reed, late 2021.
Prior to Covid, all my contracts (all outside) were at fintech startups, all word of mouth, referrals and repeats. That ground to a halt with the end of ZIRP.

Jobserve has never stopped being the best place for completely new opportunities for me (as was the case in 2005 when i started!). About 50% of my work
in the last 5 years comes from announcing availability to my Linkedin network. Would be a higher % for Linkedin if i included enquiries about going back to previous places i don’t want to go back to, but would if nothing else came up.
Always feel like i must be missing something regards new job boards, where else have people had success with of late? Feel like a dinosaur using Jobserve all the time, but it always ends up being the best place for
me.

What do you use to get new contracts these days?
Coming close to the end of quite a few years of back to back contracts (Software Developer/Architect) that came from direct approaches on LinkedIn.
LinkedIn seems dead this time, what do people use to find contracts these days?Tags: None
