I've noticed that changing the SIC on Companies House doesn't filter through to the VAT registration. Having a rummage about it seems that HMRC don't have a mechanism for maintaining it and don't state it as a thing that must be kept up to date.

Changing name and type of business - how?!
Hello all!
I'm planning to change both the name of my business and the type of business I do. It's effectively going to be a totally different company, but I don't want to set up a new one as I want to be able to work with the funds/bank account etc I already have.
From googling, I believe I have to update my SIC code, change my name through companies house, notify HMRC and my bank, and update my memorandum & articles of association.
I am the only director - am I missing anything?! I'm constantly scared of doing something wrong!
