    Anything between 3% and 50% depending on a load of factors, such as rate and exclusivity. Average is about 15% of day/hour rate.

    But don't worry about it, it's not your money, you get a percentage of theirs. Worry about what you get, because if you want their cut as well, you'll have to find your own business.

    i know its like asking how long a piece of string might be....
    but what do people consider a fair rate for an agent to take ?

    i know a lot of perm positions work on a 15-20% rate.
    is it any different for contract roles ?
