I read somewhere that it's not FCO or DVA/MOD anymore and there's now just one agency doing all clearances.

You might need to allow quite a few weeks/months for it to come through.

At Rolls Royce mine took about 3 months iirc.
Ye, 2-3 months is typical for SC coming through the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

OP you probably have a rough idea of the years. Did you not keep a filofax, keep prison visitation records, or make notes?

Data protection requests can take weeks if not months.

I believe a similar situation request / situation is also applicable to many contractors regarding HMRC enquiries:

"You must declare any investigations (both in the UK and abroad) either by police, civil guard, miltary and or other statutory prosecuting authories (e.g. United Kingdom's Financial Conduct Authority, United States of America's Security and Exchange Commission, Security, Inland Revenue, Immigration) including those pending."

    YES / NO
An HMRC enquiry is NOT an investigation

Surely DVLA will provide details they keep on file if you make DPA request?

    Yes.

The form says that speeding offences should not be included but other motoring offences should be declared. If I'd been in prison for a speeding offence, then I would probably declare that as well, just for the sake of making certain.

They know what you've done. It's whether you are prepared to tell them that that's important.

Make you best guess and explain your reasons you are a little vague as to when and why in the "additional information" area. Key thing is not to miss any.

They will know all the answers anyway: they are not asking for you to tell them, but for you to tell them as truthfully as you can...

Not sure if the form has changed but my one excluded speeding tickets (doesn't help with red light offenses unfortunately).

14a: "....ANY offence in ANY country (excluding parking and speeding, but including all other motoring offences....."

    SC Security Questionaire, few questions

    Hi All,

I got a contract recently in a government organization that requires Security Clearance. I'm currently filling out the online form but have few questions.

In the CRIMINAL CONVICTION section, I need to list my convictions.

I've had numerous speeding tickets and driving conviction of jumping a red light in the past 19 years of driving. I can't remember all the details of these convictions and also don't know the years and months of them. Is there anywhere I can get all the list of my convictions so that I can accurately fill them out in the SC form?

Also, in the CURRENT EMPLOYMENT section, can I just fill out that I'm a director of my company for the past 15 years without listing out individual IT Contracts that I carried out in the last 5 years?

Working...
