Seems plausible, a bit like when Barclays at Radbroke are hiring - the number of times you see Manchester and then it isn't so you have to change your rate to factor in more than a 15 minute commute.

Just for future reference, it's not always the case....
It could be that the client has asked their preferred agency to be cagey about the exact location as this would identify them and lead to a bunch of non-preferred pimps deluging them with unwanted applicants.
For this reason, roles at Drax don't say Selby. They'll advertise 2 different roles albeit with the same agency, contact details and description. One will be in Leeds, the other York. I assumed fishing at first and ignored it but the pimp contacted me and when challenged painted the above scenario. It seems plausible since there's F-all else in Selby.

Confirmed as CV harvesting, they are now both expired on jobswerve which is very quick.

No email or phone/contact from pimp, so I'd surmise it was CV harvesting. Thank you for nothing, Hydrogen Group.

It could be that they have a different operating model:Originally posted by Peregrine66 View PostIf this really is the case, how do companies like Noir Consulting stay in business. Pay £300 to display a suitably enticing advert.
Tell everyone they look good and ask them to submit their CV. You land 200 CVs where you can then skills match the last 3 jobs of each person to your CV database and you've potentially got 600 sales mailshots. Progressive *allegedly* used to use it as a tactic or even a strategyy years ago. You as a candidate won't know where your CV has gone (unlike me, who had mine land back on my own desk as an ideal candidate for a vacant role elsewhere in the team...)

Obviously, you must get a discount for a certain amount of ads.Originally posted by Peregrine66 View PostIf this really is the case, how do companies like Noir Consulting stay in business. I know to place a singular ad is around the £300 mark.

I always ask for the client name and role spec these days because I want to make sure that my cv is as good a fit as possible to the role. If that's not forthcoming, then there's no gig on offer and they can go whistle rather than me giving the name of the last two agencies that engaged me in contractsOriginally posted by Big Blue Plymouth View PostYes.
Also RocSearch.
They will phone with the perfect role and after 30 minutes of building your hopes they do the I need 2 references thing before they can submit your CV.

Yes.Originally posted by quackhandle View PostSame title, same pimp/contract they are almost word for word same advert just different locations.
Bogus? Just CV harvesting? Getting fed up with pimps putting out non existent gigs, (yes Nigel Frank, you are one of the worst) maybe just me but it never used to be like this.

Rate is not mentioned but theres the 6 months / start ASAP hook that is dangled. I sent my CV to one of them but not expecting a call back, but I may mention the "other gig" if I do, be interesting to see what pimp has to say about that?Originally posted by LondonManc View PostRate either "market rate" or £50-100/day above average to get you interested?
Apparently the market isn't good but they don't do themselves any favours.
Ah mondays on the bench, don't ya just love 'em?

It may be they created two to catch searches for both locations.
However, it could be a load of BS and a CV fishing exercise
