    I went with https://www.thefullercv.com/.

The 'review' cost me £400 and they ripped me off in the end. Terrible experience. I've heard of others having the same gripe.

    Avoid.

Similar happened to me...but to be fair a winning CV style isn't as uncommon as you think.

I laughed when I read the brief personal statement which was a carbon copy of my own

Personally, I wouldn't let any of the apparent "CV Specialists" touch my CV. My CV is my Advertisement. I would want to see each of the individual CVs of their consultants first. Your best bet, imho, is to ask your peer group. I have offered my CV as a rough template to the guys/girls who are in my Contractor-Circle (not the Magic one!) if they are not having success when posting their CV's to the relevant Job Sites.

Personally I'd not touch a generic company to apply blanket knowledge to my personal CV but then I've got a lot of confidence in my CV. I'm happy that I've read all the standard guidance about single fonts, no address, forget hobbies and all that which is freely available on the web and I know it works so I'm happy. I've been reviewing CV's to help my client recently and you wouldn't believe the crap that comes through with the absolute basics wrong. Starting with fancy font saying 'Curriculum Vitae' at the top of the page is one of my biggest turn offs. Make sure you've done your research first is the basic step. Don't be precious about your CV either.

Some other threads about CV reviews here by the way.

Why not attend one of the seminars advertised on these forums. For some reason the yellow header disappears when you are logged in but it's here.

Valid business expense? Is your PERSONAL CV that you would use even if you didn't have a LTD wholly and exclusively for the purpose of business?

Actually Ive not had a single contract based on my CV/Interview yet, all of my contracts to date have been based on reputation/contacts at other companies, Think after just under two year contracting Im going to have to start to expand out of my small circle of contacts... which is what prompted me to brush up the CV.

I had mine done by these guys :

CV Writing Services | CV Services

Although I've not had a chance to use it to see whether it works. I think it looks better however they didn't quite understood what I do so had to change a lot of what they'd put

A better bet would be get some other contractors you work with for their opinion on your CV. And have a look at theirs.
Some agencies might provide feedback which is free and of more value than a 3rd party.
