I also just want to expand my knowledge of project Management. Prince 2 is just one of the certifications I plan on gaining, or at least reading about. You have to start somewhere, and I don't feel just reading books, and writing documentation for my current project is getting me where I want to be. I am so tired of seeing badly managed projects, and am convinced that I can do better. After I achieve Prince 2, which I have been reading and practicing for a short while now, I am going to turn my sights to Agile. Prince 2 Agile is an unknown at the moment which I might look to once I complete Prince2 and Agile Practitioner levels. The main thing is practice, and then see if I can (actually) do better (or not).

    Cheers.

Then what DO you hear a lot about? I have been planning to get as much experience/certifications as possible.

    You've got to start somewhere.

I want Prince 2 Agile, to open up some gov't based projects. Prince 2 Practitioner is a pre-requisite for Prince 2 Agile.

I also find it to be a very good method, even just to be able to talk a sensible conversation, and I think it is much less "full of waffle" than the Americans PMP.

Notice that the original question in this thread was never actually answered.

Does ANYONE have any training course recommendations? I am currently looking at SPOCE and e-Careers; both appear virtually identical on paper.

Reasons I am booking training: The foundation/practitioner training offered is cheaper than just booking the exam.

Notice that Pluralsight have a few tutorials maybe not extensive enough to completely prepare for the exam but perhaps a good starting place.

If you're an IPSE member (and if not, why not? Join here!) then Bernie Leadbetter regularly runs weekend training courses if that's more use - have a look in the IPSE forums (https://community.ipse.co.uk/forums/...nd-services.8/)

The short answer is - it varies

The long answer is that the average saving is about 20% for a Plus member, and 10% for standard, but it varies a lot by course - e.g. a Plus member can get 45% off a PRINCE 2 course and 40% off ITIL, but there's a lower discount on some other courses.

So a five day PRINCE 2 course, normally priced at £1869 would give a Plus member an £841.05 saving - which pays for your IPSE membership several times over!

    <malvolio>It's a no-brainer!</malvolio>

QA provide e-learning courses. Not something I've done, so can't give a personal recommendation.

(If you're an IPSE member, you can get a discount on QA courses via the newly launched IPSE academy)

I studied myself and used Cupe to take exam only (online). But there are often deals for better priced online PRINCE2 courses on Groupon.
