my cv reads as a whos who, so no need for that and I assume the same applies to others

Of course. Don't forget to get the client's card too.

You better be confident of the site content though, if pushing beyond a simple means of exchanging contact details.

I worked with a guy who was obsessed with using QR Codes for staff to obtain the latest and "greatest" internal app.

He didn't even get the irony when said QR code was sent to him in an e-mail which arrived on his iPad, that he had to take a photo of with his iPhone so he could then scan it back into his iPad.

As for the original question about Hyperlinks in documents:

    Would prove nothing.

Some websites have absolutely no useful information on the company.

Yes, I have links to Github and StackOverflow profiles. They can find plenty more links just doing a google search anyway.
Not sure if anybody really clicks them, but...

So you're involved in website development. Ultimately, do you think that the potential client would look at the website when deciding who to chose? Given that I work in BI, I doubt it for me, but if your job relates to something that the client things is useful then yes.

QR codes appear to be used extensively in the States. I was rather surprised to see them on many adverts, even billboards. I have a QR reader app on my phone, but I think I fire it up once a year and then it doesn't do much but open a webpage.

    Mildly incorrect, in my experience.

My local cricket club has QR Codes at the bottom of the signs and on the back of the fixtures card. These link to pages on the website, and having looked at the stats for those pages we are getting a reasonable volume of hits from them.

Most people I know have barcode scanner aps, whether it is to check prices, remember wine drunk in restaurants, etc. They are quite useful.

Why not put a QR code on it, so they just need to use their phone/tablet's camera to take them to a website.

Just make sure you get it right.

I suppose you could put a web location in your details section, but yeah, I expect an agency would remove that stuff when they sent on your CV
