If you haven't put it to the agency in writing i.e. email that you know their "mistake" do so asap. Don't expect them to reply but when you walk/turn down the extension you can point out it's their mistake not yours, there is no loss and they can foxtrot oscar.

If the client really wanted to, they could contract with the agency for that one month, since the agency has your company under contract for that time. You would then either need to break the contract or fulfil it, depending on what you want to do.Originally posted by SuPaStA View PostThe thing is I want to move on so would probably try to find a contract by next week if possible, my contract agreement is 1 month's notice but I know the client's contract only runs till the end of the month - what do you think the agency will try to do in this situation? It's not like they have work for me to fulfill for that month as they have no contract with the client.

You correct normally extensions are spoken about to the client prior to any signed document but I cant remember they ever saying any specific month so when I got the contact I just assumed it was correct.Originally posted by malvolio View PostYMMV, but I usually discuss extensions with the client, not the agency.
But to answer your original question, the agency have suffered no financial loss for the additional month since their own contract will have been terminated by then. So if you leave on the day the client has set, there's not a hell of a lot they can do about it.
Yep I think I'm just going to play it like that, thanks for the responses.

How would you know the agreement between the client and the Agency, the only contract you see is between your LTD and the Agency. I found this out months after I signed the contract.

Client pointed it out to me when we talking about when the contract comes to an end. I pointed this out to the agency but they have still not come back to me on the matter (they pretty hopeless).

Anybody else been in this situation?
The agency during my last renewal made the contract a month longer than what the client agreed with them (ie. contract with agency ends in September, client's contract ends in August). Now the client wants to renew for another 3 months so really isn't a big issue, I'll rectify it on the renewal.
The thing is I want to move on so would probably try to find a contract by next week if possible, my contract agreement is 1 month's notice but I know the client's contract only runs till the end of the month - what do you think the agency will try to do in this situation?
