I colleague of mine who was with another accountant mentioned that his account, had submitted to HMRC his year end accounts saying that he had taken out a Director's Loan from the company without him knowing about it. It is small niggles like these which have caused me to stick with SJD. Also when my main accountant has been off I have had a very capable replacement on cover so my business is not affected.

SJD Accountancy if you need to make in-person visit, also consider Nixon Williams
I thought I'd lose out with NW as they don't do in-person stuff, but to be honest I've not needed it and my dealings with them are reduced to about 15 mins work a month (past some to-and-fro in the first setup month)

Recommend Accountants
Hi guys,
Just to set the scene, i finally took the plunge at got my first contract around 4 months ago. I was advised by other contractors to take this gig under an umbrella until Ive "studied" on opening up a LTD. Now there is just one concern i have around a good accountant and whats generally a good price for them to do everything - VAT, Company returns etc etc etc
Know I now that on CUK there is a section around various accounts that specialise with contractors; but i would like to know from you guys if you can recommend any good accountants. I live in Reading so would prefer one in a closer proximity to me.
