The 3 days I travel to the office will be 60 miles round trip per day. Is it worth putting this through an expense ?

That would be £81 a week, at 45p a mile (which you can claim for the first 10,000 miles of business travel, 25p a mile thereafter).

There are loads of resources available on this site... But as a rule of thumb, whatever you incur as an expense of performing your role can be claimed from your company (assuming you're LTD) by you as an individual. Understand that your company and you are two different legal entities, and the transactions between the two need to be formally documented. If in doubt, ask your accountant, it's what you're paying them for!

As a contractor part of the role is to be the scapegoat, it's one of the things that you learn to ignore or deflect as necessary.

Grats on your first contract, 2 days from home on a first one isn't bad going at all.
