The average contract is much longer then 90 days. Why to go through all the visa problems if there are 30 other EU/EEA countries you can hire contractors form without the visa, but yes a temporary toilet cleaner job in the skihotel bar is possible.

Presumably no big business will take a contractor/consultant for 90days max only. It's more likely for unqualified seasonal work...
Working remotely with the occasional travel to the site might work but let's see if this WFH has legs with the increased focus on people paying their fair share of taxes and "doing their bit" for the community...
