An agreement on financial services with Switzerland will make no difference. The EU basically handed over financial services to the UK in return for manufacturing exports. Switzerland's most important sector is financial services. No way will they make any agreement that will result in wealth management services moving to London.

    It's just a political stunt.

Oh - signing piece of paper to agree to work on agreement isn’t DOING something - it’s BS for papers to pretend some work is about to start (maybe)

In a fresh boost for British prospects outside the EU, the Chancellor and his Swiss counterpart Ueli Maurer signed a joint commitment to work on a new international financial services agreement. Treasury officials said the move - seeking to reduce costs and trade barriers - showed the Government’s ambition for the UK to cement its role as an international financial centre once fully independent of Brussels next year.
